The handheld ultrasonic flowmeter is designed to improve the convenience of flow measurement, with small size and light weight. The sensor can be installed on the outer wall of the pipeline to complete flow measurement, and a data storage SD card is added to facilitate data uploading, statistics, analysis, etc. in the future.
The clamp type or pipe section type ultrasonic flowmeter is an instrument that measures the liquid flow rate inside a circular tube based on the principle of "velocity difference method".Adopting advanced multi pulse technology, signal digital processing technology, and error correction technology, the flowmeter is more suitable for industrial field environments, making measurement more convenient, economical, and accurate. Ultrasonic flow meters can be widely used in fields such as petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, power, water supply and drainage, etc. They are instruments that measure flow by detecting the impact of fluid flow on ultrasonic beams (or ultrasonic pulses).
Ultrasonic flow meters use the "time difference method" to measure liquid flow by detecting the impact of fluid flow on ultrasound.Firstly, use a probe to transmit signals, which pass through the pipe wall, fluid, and pipe wall before being received by the probe on the other side; At the same time as the probe transmits the signal, the probe also emits the same signal, which passes through the pipe wall, fluid, and pipe wall. Probe reception; Due to the presence of flow velocity, the two times are not equal and there is a time difference. Therefore, the flow velocity can be calculated based on the time difference to obtain the flow rate value.
How to choose the installation and measurement location of ultrasonic flow meters
The installation of ultrasonic flow meters is relatively simple and convenient among all flow meter installations.Simply select a suitable measurement point, input the pipeline parameters at the measurement point into the flowmeter, and then fix the probe on the pipeline. To ensure measurement accuracy, it is required to select a location with uniform fluid flow field distribution when selecting measurement points for ultrasonic flow meters. The following principles should be followed:
1、Choose a pipe section that is filled with fluid that is uniformly dense and easy to propagate ultrasonic waves, such as a vertical pipe section (fluid flowing upwards) or a horizontal pipe section.
2、The installation distance should be for straight pipe sections without valves, bends, reducers, etc. that are greater than 10 times the diameter of the straight pipe upstream and 5 times the diameter of the straight pipe downstream. The installation point of the ultrasonic flow meter should be away from interference sources such as valves, pumps, high-voltage electricity, and inverters.
3、Avoid installing on high points in the pipeline system or vertical pipelines with free outlets (fluid flowing downwards).
4、For open or semi full pipes, ultrasonic flow meters should be installed in U-shaped pipe sections.
5、Fully consider the scaling situation on the inner wall of the pipeline and try to choose a non scaling pipeline section for measurement. When it cannot be met, scaling should be considered as a lining to improve measurement accuracy.
6、Ensure that the temperature and pressure at the measurement point are within the working range of the sensor.
7、Two sensors must be installed in the horizontal direction of the pipeline axis and within ± 45o of the horizontal position of the axis to prevent bubbles or sediment from affecting the normal measurement of the sensors in the upper and lower parts of the pipeline. If the installation space of the ultrasonic flowmeter is limited and cannot be installed horizontally and symmetrically, it can be installed vertically or obliquely without bubbles on the upper part of the pipeline.
8、Choose a pipeline section that is uniform, dense, and convenient for ultrasonic transmission.
