Electromagnetic flowmeter is a new type of flow measurement instrument that developed rapidly with the development of electronic technology in the 1950s and 1960s.Electromagnetic flow meter is an instrument that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to measure the flow rate of conductive fluids based on the electromotive force induced by the conductive fluid passing through an external magnetic field.Electromagnetic flow meters are widely used in sewage, fluorine chemical industry, production water, tap water industry, medicine, steel and many other fields.The principle determines that it can only measure conductive liquids. Although it has much better reliability and stability than other types of flow meters, customers still have some problems in practical use. Let's talk in detail about the selection and installation of electromagnetic flow meters.
1、Like other flow meters, although electromagnetic flow meters have a range ratio of 30:1, which is higher than vortex flow meters and differential pressure flow meters, they also have limitations. Many customers often set up instruments. Compared to a water meter, it can measure very low flow rates. Generally, only 0.1m/s can be measured. If the flow rate is below this value, it is difficult for the electromagnetic flowmeter to measure correctly. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the flow range ratio at the beginning of the order. When placing an order, the original pipe diameter cannot be used. You can set the instrument diameter based on your actual flow rate.
2、Like other flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters also have requirements for straight pipes before and after installation, but they have lower requirements than other types of flow meters. However, the key point is to meet the following requirements: full pipe, then full pipe. If the pipe is not full, it is easy to cause the flow meter to jump randomly.
3、Like other flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters also have a protection level. If the customer has requirements for the installation environment of the instrument, the installation location is underground. For wells or other damp places, it is recommended that customers choose a split type to avoid instrument damage due to improper selection.
4、Electromagnetic flow meters can measure corrosive liquids, but customers must provide other measurement medium characteristics correctly at the beginning of the order to avoid incorrect electrode selection, which may result in sensor scrapping and inconvenience and economic losses for customers in later use.
5、Although electromagnetic flow meters have good reliability and are generally not damaged, due to their principle, the surface of the sensor electrode is always in contact with the liquid. Over time, the surface of the electrode is more susceptible to contamination. Therefore, in general, if customers have the ability to disassemble electromagnetic flow meters, it is recommended to disassemble and clean the electrodes once a year to a year and a half to ensure the measurement accuracy of the entire flow meter. Any instrument needs "maintenance", and electromagnetic flow meters are no exception.
6、When the main line is a vertical pipeline, in general, the water flow is required to be from bottom to top and should not be from top to bottom as much as possible. The latter can easily cause significant flow fluctuations. In addition to full pipe installation, this is also important, followed by the distance between the front and rear straight pipes.
Choose a place that is easy to maintain and move. The flow meter should be installed at the rear of the pump, not on the suction side; The valve should be installed on the downstream side of the flow.
