The steam trap can block steam and drain water in the steam heating system. The steam heating equipment can achieve higher working efficiency by selecting proper steam trap. In order to achieve the desired effect, it is necessary to deeply understand the performance and characteristics of various steam traps. There are many kinds of traps, each with different performance. When selecting steam trap, select its characteristics to meet the operation of steam heating equipment, and then consider other objective conditions, so that the steam trap you need is correct and effective. Traps need to be able to "identify" steam and condensate to prevent steam and drainage. The "identification" of steam and condensate is based on three principles: density difference, temperature difference and phase change. Therefore, three types of steam traps are manufactured according to three principles, including mechanical type, thermostatic type and thermodynamic type.
1、Mechanical drain valve
Mechanical type, also known as float type, utilizes the density difference between condensed water and steam. Through the change of condensate water level, the float rises and falls, and drives the valve disc to open or close, so as to achieve the purpose of steam blocking and exhaust. The mechanical drain valve has low undercooling and is not affected by the change of working pressure and temperature. Drain water when there is water, and make the heating equipment achieve higher heat exchange efficiency when there is no water in the heating equipment. The back pressure rate is 80% and the working quality is high. It is an ideal drain valve for heating equipment in the production process. Mechanical drain valves include free float type, free semi-float type, lever float type, inverted bucket type, etc.
2、Thermostatic drain valve
This type of steam trap uses the temperature difference between steam and condensate to deform or expand the temperature sensing element and drive the valve core to open and close the valve. The subcooling of thermostatic steam trap is relatively high, generally between 15 ℃ and 40 ℃. It can use part of the sensible heat in the condensate. There is always high-temperature condensate in front of the valve, without steam leakage, which has a significant impact on energy conservation. It is an ideal drain valve for steam pipes, heat tracing pipes, small heating equipment, heating equipment and small heating equipment with low temperature requirements. Thermostatic drain valves include bellows type, bellows type, bimetal type, etc.
3、Thermoelectric drain valve
According to the phase change principle, this trap relies on the different thermodynamic principles of the flow and volume changes of steam and condensate when passing through, so as to generate different pressure differences between the valve plate and the valve plate, and drive the valve plate to switch the valve. Since the working power of thermal steam trap comes from steam, the waste of steam is relatively large. Simple structure, water hammer resistance, 50% regression, high noise, frequent valve operation and short service life. Thermoelectric drain valves include thermoelectric type (disc type), pulse type, orifice plate type, etc.
