Mechanical type, also known as float type, utilizes the density contrast between condensed water and steam. By changing the condensation water level, the float rises and falls, driving the valve disc to open or close, achieving the purpose of steam blockage and exhaust. Mechanical trap have low undercooling and are not affected by changes in working pressure and temperature. When there is water, the water will be drained. When there is no water in the heating equipment, the heating equipment will achieve higher heat exchange efficiency. With a back pressure rate of 80% and high work quality, it is an ideal trap for heating equipment in the production process. Mechanical trap include free float type, free semi float type, lever float type, inverted bucket type, etc.
1. Free floating trap:
The structure of the free floating steam trap is simple. There is only one finely ground stainless steel hollow float with movable parts inside.It is both a float and an opening and closing part. No vulnerable parts, long service life. The trap has an internal strap. Equipped with automatic exhaust device, high sensitivity, capable of automatic exhaust, and high work quality.
When the trap started, the air inside the pipeline is discharged through an automatic exhaust device. Low temperature condensate enters the trap, and the condensate level rises. The float ball rises then the trap opens. The condensate is quickly discharged, and the steam enters the equipment to quickly heat up. The temperature sensitive liquid of the automatic exhaust device expands, and the automatic exhaust device closes.When the trap begins to work normally,the float rises and falls with the condensate level, blocking steam and draining water. The valve seat of the floating ball trap is always lower than the liquid level, forming a water seal, without steam leakage, and with good energy-saving effect. The smaller working pressure is 0.01Mpa, which is not affected by temperature and working pressure fluctuations within the range of 0.01Mpa to larger working pressure.It can discharge condensate at a saturated temperature, with a low undercooling of 0 ℃. There is no water inside the heating equipment, enabling it to achieve higher heat exchange efficiency. With a back pressure rate greater than 85%, it is one of the ideal trap for heating equipment in the production process.
2. Free semi floating ball trap:
The free type semi floating ball trap only has one semi floating ball barrel as the moving component, with the opening facing downwards. The ball barrel is both an opening and closing component and a sealing component. The entire spherical surface can be sealed, has a long service life, is resistant to water hammer, has no vulnerable parts, has no faults, is durable, and has no steam leakage. When the back pressure rate is greater than 80%, it can discharge condensate water at saturation temperature. The low undercooling is 0 ℃, and there is no water in the heating equipment, which can achieve higher heat exchange efficiency.
When the trap started, the air and low-temperature condensate in the pipeline enter the trap through the emission pipe. The bimetallic emptying element inside the valve pops open the barrel, opens the valve, and quickly discharges air and low-temperature condensate.When steam enters the ball cylinder, it generates upward buoyancy, and at the same time, the temperature inside the valve increases, causing the bimetallic evacuation element to contract. The ball cylinder floats to the valve port and the valve closes. When the steam inside the bucket becomes condensed water, the bucket loses buoyancy and sinks, the valve opens, and the condensed water is quickly discharged. When the steam enters the cylinder again, the valve closes again and operates intermittently and continuously.
