The LWQ series gas intelligent turbine flowmeter is a new generation of high-precision and highly reliable precision measuring instruments that integrate temperature, pressure, flow sensors, and intelligent flow totalizers. This flowmeter is widely used in urban pipeline (network) gas metering, industrial gas metering, gas pressure regulating station metering, energy management, and other non corrosive gas metering or flow control applications.
Vortex flowmeter is a new type of flowmeter. Due to its high accuracy, strong adaptability, wide applicability, and simple installation, it has been widely used in the chemical industry. Below, we will share with you the installation points of vortex flow meters.
1、The installation of vortex flow meters should ensure the length of upstream and downstream straight pipe sections
(1)The general requirements for the front and rear straight pipe sections of the vortex flowmeter are: the front 20D and the back 5D (D represents the inner diameter of the connected process pipe), and the valve is generally designed downstream of the flowmeter.
(2)When a vortex flowmeter is installed at the outlet of a compressor, blower, or plunger pump, a valve needs to be installed upstream of the flowmeter. In this case, to ensure the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter, the length of the upstream straight pipe section should not be less than 20D, and a flow limiting or buffering device should be installed on the upstream side.
(3)For process pipelines with reduced diameter requirements, the length of the front and rear straight pipe sections should be ensured to be no less than 10D and 5D respectively; If a gate valve needs to be selected on the upstream side of the flowmeter, the length of the front straight pipe section should not be less than 40D.
(4)Temperature, pressure, and other source components should be installed on the downstream side of the vortex flowmeter.
2、The installation of vortex flow meters should ensure that the interior of the vortex generator is filled with medium under working conditions
Vortex flow meters can measure the flow rates of liquid, gas, and steam phases. It can be installed horizontally, vertically, or even at any angle on the pipeline.However, in either case, it is necessary to ensure that the flow meter is in working condition. The interior can be completely filled with the same medium.
(1)For the connected process pipeline, its inner diameter should not be less than the inner diameter of the flow meter, and the inner diameter of the gasket used for flange connection should be greater than the inner diameter of the flow meter itself, otherwise bubbles or negative pressure vacuum will be generated, affecting measurement accuracy.
(2)When installing a vortex flowmeter horizontally in a pipeline to measure liquid media, it is necessary to avoid improper pipeline layout that may cause bubbles to remain in the flowmeter; When installing vertical pipelines, it is required that the flow direction of the medium be upward. When the flow direction is unavoidable, consideration should be given to exiting.The negative pressure formed by gravity prevents the vortex flowmeter from fully filling the measured medium.
3、Precautions for pipeline cleaning and blowing:
Pipeline cleaning and blowing cannot be carried out together with vortex flow meters.The vortex flowmeter should be replaced with a short joint to temporarily replace the flowmeter.The plug-in flow meter should be removed first and then cleaned or purged to avoid damage to the flow meter.
Operating environment of vortex flowmeter:
(1)There are many types of vortex flow meters, and different models of flow meters have different usage ranges, such as environmental temperature, medium temperature, measurement accuracy, and pipe diameter. When paying attention to their models and other technical installation parameters, corresponding measures should be taken according to their technical requirements.
(2)Vortex flow meters should be installed away from power lines, high-power electrical equipment, and other places with strong electromagnetic interference.
(3)Vortex flow meters are sensitive to the impact of vibration, so when selecting the installation location, they should be kept away from the vibration area.If it needs to be installed in the vibration area, pipe supports should be installed on the connected pipes for fixation.
